BACKGROUND
Ovarian cancer is the eighth leading cause of cancer death among women worldwide, accounting for 4.7% of all cancer deaths in women. It is also one of the deadliest gynaecological cancers worldwide.
Folate receptor 1 protein (FOLR1), also known as folate receptor alpha (FRα), is expressed in approximately 90% of ovarian carcinomas and serves as a predictive biomarker for targeted therapy with mirvetuximab in patients with platinum-resistant epithelial ovarian cancer.
WHAT WE OFFER
Immunohistochemical testing for FOLR1 overexpression using Roche’s VENTANA FOLR1 (FOLR1-2.1) RxDx Assay, on the indicated Roche Ventana ULTRA platform. This assay is the only FDA/EMA-approved method for determining FOLR1 expression.
Beware of imitations.
The FOLR1 test will now also be available in our molecular packages for ovarian cancer, SomArray Ovarian and SomArray Ovarian Plus.
