Ioannis Ηatzibougias, MD, graduated from the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1969.
In 1976 he was awarded the Specialization Title of ‘Anatomic Pathologist’ and in the same year he was trained in the subject of ‘Technique and Methods” in the Laboratories of Microscope Electronics of Prof H. Ueberberg in Biberach, Germany.

In 1977 he was awarded his Doctorate by the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki along with the Specialization Title of ‘Cytologist’.
In 1985 he gained the position, after being elected, of Professor of Anatomics, 1st Class, in the Department of Midwifery at the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki.

He is the author of the book ‘ΣΤΟΙΧΕΙΑ ΑΝΑΤΟΜΙΚΗΣ ΤΟΥ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΥ’ (‘HUMAN ANATOMIC ELEMENTS’), parts I and II for the students of the Technological Educational Institutes of Greece.
